About the Role
THE POSITION
We are seeking a summer intern to work with our Emerging Market (EM) Macro Strategy group on a specific project, which will feed into our investment process for the EM Debt team. You will experience first-hand the formulation of global and country-specific macro views, investment recommendations and portfolio decisions by participating in daily team meetings with the investment and research group and will be able to contribute to these as well. You will have the direct guidance and mentorship of the five EM macro strategists in the team, with frequent touchpoints during the week to define a workplan, assess progress and discuss next steps. At the end of the summer, you will present your project and investment implications to the EM investment and research groups.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking qualified candidates that have a demonstrated interest and passion in emerging markets (EM), economics and finance and who display the following qualifications:
- Graduated between 2021 - 2022 with Bachelor's degree and in Economics or Finance (strong statistics is a must!)
- Advanced coding skills (Python and Excel are a must; Matlab is a plus).
- Proficiency in English and at least one major EM language e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, French, Portuguese
- Impeccable communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently.
- Professional experience in asset management, financial markets, central banking, ministries of finance and/or multilateral organizations is a plus.
