The Role
Hours per fortnight - Up to 76 hours
The Education Quality Consultant is responsible for ensuring quality and consistency within TasTAFE across a range of processes relating to learning, assessment, training product delivery and vocational competency and currency.
The Education Quality Consultant will work in consultation with internal and external stakeholders to scope and undertake the necessary compliance reviews and auditing functions with respect to TasTAFE’s regulatory compliance and will develop and support the implementation of continuous improvement across the organisation.
You will be responsible for achieving:
- Working closely with TasTAFE delivery teams to provide support and specialised advice to ensure compliance with the Standards for Registration and Training Organisations 2015 and the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) regulatory requirements as well as ensuring quality and consistency across all aspects of teaching, learning, assessment, validation and assisting with capability development.
- Providing advice to TasTAFE staff in regard to compliance related system improvements and provide support to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements of TasTAFE’s Quality Management System.
- Developing and undertaking compliance reviews and audits ensuring adherence to the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Framework, ESOS Framework and TasTAFE’s Quality Management System and develop and support the implementation of Quality Improvement Plans.
An existing TasTAFE employee employed under a copied state instrument, or an employee who has been employed at TasTAFE in the past three months, if successful, would be appointed at the relevant classification and salary in the copied state instrument.
About You
Capabilities required to undertake the role successfully include:
- Highly developed knowledge and understanding of the VET Quality Framework and ESOS Framework with the ability to apply this knowledge to support staff in continuous improvement, capability development and the delivery of high quality outcomes.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the registration and quality assurance processes of ASQA and CRICOS and the application of these in a vocational education environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of vocational currency and competency and its application in supporting staff particularly in recording and managing qualifications and vocational skills.
- Proven high level research and analytical skills including ability to identify risks and non-compliance as well as the ability to review current and proposed arrangements to identify and rectify quality concerns and ensure compliance for Testamurs and Statements of Attainment.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration to work with vulnerable people in Tasmania.
- Up to date with vaccination against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Experience in vocational education and training environment.
