The Role
The Explosive Ordnance (EO) Branch Assistant Director EO Governance Manager positions will work with reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes under their control.
The two Assistant Director EO Governance Managers will be expected to build team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work area.
They will drive improvements to, and manage, governance requirements at the enterprise and branch levels.
The Assistant Director EO Governance Managers will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues.
They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve branch and/or Defence EO Enterprise outcomes.
About our Team
EO Branch provides EO services to the whole of the ADO. Its responsibilities include the maintenance of an effective and comprehensive EO safety regime; the provision of EO proof, test and evaluation services; efficient EO logistics management; and whole-of-Defence EO governance.
The Branch also has responsibility for managing the implementation of recommendations from both the Review of Defence Policy and Procedures for the Management of EO.
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal applicants will:
Govern - Develop governance, assurance, business management and risk management strategies and plans to address EO Branch and Enterprise level issues and manage risk.
Lead - Lead the EO Branch Business Management team and/or the Defence EO Governance and Committee Secretariat teams. Includes providing clear, concise and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility, and guiding and developing people.
Manage Change - Provide advice to key stakeholders to drive improvements to both the Branch level governance framework and the Enterprise level governance framework.
Manage Relationships - Build and sustain productive working relationships with key stakeholders at the Branch and Enterprise levels.
Apply Logistics Knowledge – Logistics experience is desirable but not essential.
