The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. We have an exciting leadership position available in the Enabling Services, Transformation and Improvement Branch as EL2 Director Business Improvement.
The Enabling Services, Transformation and Improvement Branch is a newly formed branch at the NDIA. The Branch improves the delivery of enabling services within the Agency and focuses on the systems and processes of enabling services to deliver a better staff experience to the wider-Agency, prioritising continuous improvement, efficiency, and service quality.
The Branch will develop and implement tools and technology to analyse and design the service value in organisational design, enterprise architecture, and performance efficiencies in business areas across the Enabling Services Group in alignment with strategy. The Branch will support implementation of improvements through change management methodologies and introduce desktop technology productivity applications to improve ways of working.
Where you can add valueThe EL2 Director Business Improvement role offers an opportunity to develop skills and experience, working with multidisciplinary teams across the Branch and Agency.
You will play a key leadership role, with your responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Leading multiple Business Improvement engagements that transition business experiences to their desired future states.
- Driving operating model maturity, process uplift, and transformation in end-to-end business outcomes.
- Developing a business architecture to optimise business operations and processes.
- Applying improvement frameworks to drive better business outcomes.
- Empowering business areas with change management support to embed transformations and improvements.
- Establishing a governance structure for tracking and monitoring portfolio progress.
- Leading a dedicated team of improvement practitioners, fostering collaboration with initiative owners.
- Tailoring and developing initiatives that directly enhance the operational efficiency of their respective business areas.
Our ideal candidate is a natural leader who has a passion for, and preferably experience in: Continuous Improvement, Operational Development Technology, Customer Experience or Transformation. Additionally, you will have excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated leadership experience and skills with an innovative approach to inspiring team members to strive for the best outcomes. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, display a high attention to detail and possess the ability to make decisions whilst working independently and proactively.

While this role is ideally performed from Deakin - ACT, Brisbane - QLD or Geelong - VIC remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
