Job Description
An opportunity within AECOM's Energy team in Melbourne is available for an Electrical Engineer looking to work on diverse projects - transport, water, mining, energy and renewables, within an organisation that aims to make the world a better place.
As part of these growing teams, you will have the opportunity to be involved in delivering electrical design packages for projects across the southern region of Australia plus workshare on projects from the major city centres.
Not only will you work with a range of internal stakeholders, but you will also be given the opportunity to contribute to the preparation of proposals, design schedules, business reporting, budgets and technical and commercial submissions for bid proposals associated with electrical work for external clients; either as standalone bids or as part of wider project teams, thereby contributing to the ongoing success of our teams.
From a technical perspective, as an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for or part of a delivery team that completes:
- Work through conceptual and detailed design of electrical projects.
- Design of electrical systems (HV and LV).
- Low voltage distribution / motor control system and process automation design projects.
- Hazardous Area Classification project delivery.
- Communication system design projects.
- Control system (e.g. PLC/SCADA) concept design projects.
- Project 'optioneering' studies.

Qualifications
- Basic experience in Electrical Engineering ideally across Industrial, Defence or Energy sectors
- Have values that align with our positive and empowering regional offices in Melbourne.
- Comfortable and confident in electrical design software packages, particularly in AutoCAD
- Experience performing electrical system studies such as load flow, arc flash and fault analysis.
- Ability to be flexible, integrate well within a team delivery environment and be able to add to our customer focused culture.
- Proactive mindset / self-driven.
- Ability to undertake occasional travel, either between offices or to customer sites.
- Excellent communicator and report writing skills
- Prior exposure to Electrical systems modelling software (eg. ETAP, PowerCad, CDEGS) strongly considered.
- Hazardous Area Classification work ideal.
