As part of the Engineering department, you will assist the team that looks after our customers both internal and externally.
This varied and busy role will involve routine and reactive repair as well as general maintenance of the building and its assets.
Able to work in a remotely location, accommodation and meals are provided. Transportation back to the mainland once every two weeks.
The scope will be carried out necessary retrofit works in the next 12 months, You will be converted to hotel permanent maintenance Staff afterwards if deem necessary
JOB DESCRIPTION
- To repair and maintain all electrical, mechanical, kitchen, heating systems and associated equipment within the hotel in close co-ordination with the Chief Engineer
- Repair of hotel lighting and TV systems network.
- Ability to fault find in control wiring, competent with electrical schematic diagrams.
- Ability to fault find single and 3 phase motors.
- Fault find and repair commercial equipment and appliances.
- Repair of data cable and network systems.
- To inform your manager about equipment deficiencies, relevant stock control and spare parts as necessary.
- Co-ordinate and assist all external contractors as necessary.
- To keep the workshop clean and tidy
- To perform call out and other duties which may be assigned to you.
- Flexible rostering as the business requires on rotating shifts.
- Respond directly to guest maintenance requests.
- Carry out assigned tasks by management, including physical duties such as; lifting and transporting furniture and other equipment, climbing ladders, working in enclosed areas and pushing trolleys.
- Comply with all systems and procedures as laid down by the Chief Engineer, General Manager and Directors
- Ensure communication between Engineering and all other areas of the hotel is professional, efficient, and thorough.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous electrical experience, preferably in a hotel or a similar varied work environment such as ships, hospitals, or retail businesses
- An electrical licensed is required (QBCC)
- Current knowledge of general maintenance and engineering work
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes.
