About the Role  

 

Mining Area C, part of Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO), is one of five mining hubs in the Pilbara region. It is located 120 kilometres north-west of Newman on the Traditional Lands of the Banjima People. It consists of eight open-cut mines, three ore handling plants and one train load-out facility. In operation since 2003, the mine is responsible for approximately 52 million tonnes of ore production per annum. 

 

Mining Area C currently operates on a fly-in fly-out 2/1 roster.  Flights operate from Perth to Coondewanna Airport. Employees are accommodated at Packsaddle Camp. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.   

 

Feedback from our workforce tells us a more family friendly roster would be welcomed by our employees, and as such we are moving our Fixed Plant teams to an even time roster of 8/6/7/7.  

 

As such, Mining Area C Fixed Plant are seeking experienced individuals to join our world class operation in the following opportunities:  

 

  • Electricians  - Fixed Plant Equipment

 

About You  

 

Your expertise in problem solving & diagnostics, coupled with your ability to communicate and build strong team relationships will make you an ideal candidate.  

 

Ideally you will meet the following requirements;  

 

  • Hold an Australian or equivalent trade certificate  - WA Electricial Trade License

  • Preferred experience in HV Switching

  • Experience working in a maintenance role in mining, heavy industry, manufacturing or a transferable industry 

  • Relevant experience performing preventative maintenance, repairs and fault finding on fixed plant mining equipment or similar 

  • A commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail and procedure 

  • The ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure 

  • A strong desire to learn and a high level of enthusiasm to develop a range of new skills 

  • A desire to achieve results through great teamwork and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-skilled team.
