We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Emergency Management Coordinator to join our team. This newly created position will be on a term contract until 30 June 2026. As a key member of our team, you'll be working full time, 35 hours a week, primarily be based at our Corporate Centre in Goonellabah.
About this role
As the Emergency Management Coordinator you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies to enhance Emergency Management capabilities within the Lismore Local Government area.

What we trust you to deliver
The improvement and streamlining of Council processes to ensure an integrated approach to Emergency Management planning and delivery.
Coordination, development and implementation of an Emergency Management framework for Council.
Undertake Lismore Local Emergency Management Officer (LEMO) duties or assist the LEMO to undertake the functions of that role, to ensure Council's obligations under the SERM Act (and relevant legislation) are met.
Contribute to strategic and operational plans to improve community safety and Emergency Management (for prevention, planning, response and recovery phases).
Deliver high quality customer service to the community, employees and customers of Council.
What you'll need to be successful
Qualifications in Emergency Management or equivalent work experience or training.
Australasian Inter-service Incident Management System (AIMS) desirable
Current Class C Drivers Licence.
A sound understanding of Emergency Management framework and obligations under the SERM Act and other relevant legislation and guidelines.
