THE ROLE

The Employee Communication function sits within the Corporate Affairs team at Origin and is responsible for Origin-wide employee communication. Reporting to the Senior Employee Communication Manager – IG, Safety and Community, the Employee Communication Lead (IG, Safety & Community) will support the execution of communication plans for the Integrated Gas business, Origin-wide health and safety communication and community initiatives.

 

A key focus of the role will be supporting the Employee Communications team to manage key digital channels, develop ideas to enhance the way we share stories internally, and deploy engaging content across our employee platforms and channels. They will work closely with key business stakeholders to produce written and digital content that engages employees. They will also support a number of employee events and campaigns across state-based sites.

 

In this role, the successful candidate will also:

  • Support the development and execution of IG, Safety and Community Employee Communication plans
  • Support communication planning for key internal campaigns and employee events, support hybrid and remote working.
  • Develop regular written, digital, multimedia and mixed media content to share news and information, and engage employees through our core internal communication channels
  • Support hybrid employee events with technical and content support to increase employee engagement
  • Work closely with the business to ensure employee engagement with Origin sponsorships and local events and increase awareness of Origin’s contribution to local communities
  • Lead the creative execution of key communication activities in the IG and Community Plan. This includes development of videos, animations, artwork assets and collateral.

We’re seeking a candidate who is passionate about employee communication, works well as part of a team and enjoys a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You’ll have proven skills in managing multiple priorities and successfully implementing a diverse range of communication programs and activities. You live and breathe all things communication and love the idea of building your skills with opportunities for end to end communication program ownership.

 

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have great writing skills, love developing content and campaigns for diverse audiences, excellent stakeholder management skills, a proven track record of multi-tasking, and be confident and proactive in your approach. You will ideally have Graduate or Post-Graduate qualifications in Communication, Multimedia or Digital Marketing. You will have the ability to travel and attend work sites as required.

 

Through the work you have undertaken, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • 2 + years’ experience in digital content development, including graphics and animations
  • Expertise across social media channels
  • Experience in producing and supporting hybrid (in person and digital) events
  • Experience in shooting and editing video content, develop multimedia and mixed media content
  • Strong written skills with the ability to engage and tell a compelling story.
  • Experience developing content that will inspire, motivate, and increase employee engagement across the business.
  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated ability to multitask and deliver to tight deadlines while managing conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and partner with wider business teams to deliver results.
  • Qualifications in communication, multimedia or digital marketing (graduates would be considered)

 

It would be advantageous if you could show:

  • Experience with video editing and basic graphic design.
  • Experience with digital channel management (such as Workplace or Yammer) and video production.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Live event or similar
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva and Creative Cloud.
  • Experience in implementing communication strategy to an internal audience.
