About CASA

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) is a government body that regulates aviation safety in Australia.

We license pilots, register aircraft, oversee aviation safety and promote safety awareness. We also make sure that the aviation community and the public use and administer Australian airspace safely.

In July 1995, we were established as an independent statutory authority. We operate within a legislative framework made up of acts, regulations, associated legislative instruments and guidance material.

The Division

The Corporate Service Division contributes to aviation safety by enhancing CASA's capability, capacity and service delivery. We are responsible for:

·         human resource functions, including workforce planning

·         regulatory and technical training and professional development

·         governance oversight and coordination across the organisation

·         managing productive working relationships with the Minister’s Office and other government agencies

·         information technology services

·         business improvement and change management

·         portfolio management and service delivery transformation program

As part of CASA’s People Services team, this role contributes to the effective delivery of strategic and operational recruitment, talent management, entry pathway programs, and diversity and Inclusion services. This role is involved in designing and implementing CASA’s broader HR initiatives through interactions with our People and Capability function and in liaison with business areas.

With one direct report, this role’s primary focus is to manage the more complex recruitment requirements of CASA and the provision of pragmatic and evidence-based advice to managers. This role administers and manages a strategic approach to recruitment and entry level programs, ensuring CASA's workforce can deliver organisational goals and represent the diverse community which we serve.

The opportunity to be actively involved in the other People Services functions of Diversity & Inclusion, and Work Health & Safety also exists for the right person, as we look to build a cohesive, team-focused section. The potential to stretch to other human resources functions also exists.
