genU is looking for compassionate staff to assist those with disabilities on their pathway to employment.

This role would be perfect for someone studying in the human services field or someone with lived experience in disability and mental health.

The role of the Employment Mentor is to support participants to ensure they are achieving their Employment Plan and are progressing towards their employment related goals. Supports include a range of capacity building activities in both group and individual settings.

You will also undertake a range of administrative tasks such as; file noting and reporting.

This opportunity can be Full-Time or Part-Time to suit your lifestyle and is based in North East Melbourne.

About You?

Our ideal Employment Mentor is an effective communicator will be committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities within the community. You will be able to demonstrate a strong administrative ability and have sound organisation skills.

Essential:

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain;
  • Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate of completion or willingness to obtain;
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain;
  • Current First Aid Certificate;
  • Ability to transport participants in own vehicle (current license, car and comprehensive insurance required);
  • All applicants for this role must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and meet the requirements of the genU Covid-19 Vaccination Policy.
Desirable:
  • Certificate IV in Disability or Mental Health, and/or other relevant qualification;
  • Sound understanding and experience in delivering person centred supports;
  • Experience working in the NDIS environment.
