AddressWe are partnering with a leading Defence MSP client who are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Engineering Manager to lead their Technical Risk assurance program. This role is integral to maintaining technical integrity, delivering trusted advice, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Technical Risk assurance program, including systems engineering, maintenance delivery, configuration control, and materiel support.
- Provide trusted advice to senior engineers on risks and issues concerning technical integrity.
- Recommend engineering decisions, assess deviations and waivers, and develop risk assessments and obsolescence solutions.
- Mentor engineering and Technical personnel to support delegation.
- Maintain Technical Risk Management Applications and Systems.
- Ensure compliance.
- Lead internal and external audits and act as the primary contact for related activities.
- Develop, review, and update engineering plans and processes.
Security Requirements
- Must have a Baseline Defence security clearance or higher.
Essential skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience with relevant qualifications).
- Minimum 15 years' experience in design and engineering management.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a Defence or related technical industry.
- Experience managing a Technical Risk Management Framework or Technical Compliance Auditing.
- Proven ability to make engineering decisions within a complex regulatory framework.
- Strong client and staff engagement, relationship, and communication skills.
- In-depth expertise in engineering discipline and broad knowledge of other engineering areas.
- Eligible for membership of a recognised professional body and registration as Chartered Engineer.
- Eligible for ITAR clearance of relevant ship systems.
