With a reputation for pushing boundaries and ensuring safety at every stage, we're seeking a Temporary Works Engineer (Shoring) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the success of our growing company.

Position Overview: 

As a Temporary Works Engineer specialising in shoring, you will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and implementation of temporary works designs to support excavation and construction activities. You'll work closely with our project teams to ensure the safety, stability, and efficiency of temporary works, contributing to the overall success of our projects. This position will have a National focus, supporting all States.

Responsibilities:

  1.   Design temporary shoring systems to support excavations, foundations, and structures according to project requirements and industry standards.
  2.   Conduct site assessments and surveys to determine ground conditions, loads, and other factors influencing temporary works design.
  3.   Produce detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications for temporary works structures.
  4.   Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to develop cost-effective and practical solutions for temporary works.
  5.   Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during the installation, monitoring, and removal of temporary shoring systems.
  6.   Perform structural analysis and risk assessments to ensure the integrity and safety of temporary works designs.
  7.   Liaise with clients, architects, and regulatory authorities to obtain approvals and permits for temporary works installations.
  8.   Keep abreast of industry developments, regulations, and best practices related to temporary works engineering.

Requirements:

  1.   Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field. 
  2.   Proven experience in temporary works engineering, with a focus on shoring systems for Civil Construction projects.
  3.   Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  4.   Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
  5.   Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  6.   Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  7.   Excellent understanding of relevant Australian Standards (AS) and building codes.
  8.   Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
