About the role
We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join our South Eastern Program Alliance (SEPA), based on projects in Melbourne, Australia. This permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately owned tier 1 constructor, and an international engineering enterprise.
Laing O’Rourke, as part of the South East Program Alliance (SEPA) are working with LXRP, Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) and Jacobs to develop and deliver value-for-money engineering solutions for multiple level crossing removals.
The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) is a delivery entity created by the Victorian Government to remove 75 dangerous and congested level crossings across Victoria by 2025. It is one of the largest rail infrastructure projects in Victoria’s history.
Our current pipeline of works includes major station upgrades, track duplications and a range of other critical rail infrastructure works.
Key responsibilities
- The delivery of designs to meet the agreed safety, time, cost and quality outcomes.
- Managing a variety of divergent activities/ teams (between 25 - 50 employees), managing fees and contributing to the strategic direction to achieve revenue and margin.
- Liaising with the relevant Design Discipline Leaders and external stakeholders to drive a positive outcome for the project, meeting client expectations and requirements.
- Coordinate multiple complex projects, with many participants and stakeholders with the close support of the Project Design Manager and Senior Designers.
About you
A relevant engineering degree combined with significant experience in the implementation and integration of complex systems, with a solid understanding of requirements capture, design, installation, communications, commissioning and maintenance.
