Position overview
A full time Site Engineering Manager role has become available in our Operations Team based in Botany, NSW. Reporting directly to Site Manager, as an Engineering Manager, you will be managing the annual project and budget plan and for safe and timely execution, develops and mentors department personnel to their full potential. In this role, you will also be supporting process safety management program to meet government and corporate requirement. The ideal candidate will be flexible and practical with a hands-on approach.
Responsibilities
Lead the site Maintenance group to ensure compliance to relevant legislation and standards, and to improve equipment reliability.
Manage the Site Maintenance group with respect to safety, manning, training, costs and efficiency.
Act as the Allnex Engineer on assigned capital projects to ensure safe, timely, and on budget completion of projects in line with business objectives and in accordance with Allnex Engineering Standards.
Contribute to the Botany Capital Management process by providing appropriate investment opportunities, assisting Site Management with project cost estimating support.
Provide Monthly updates on project progress, costs and forecast of project total costs.
Ensure appropriate Knowledge Management of project files, engineering drawings, specifications and other records.
Adhere to Allnex Engineering Standards for Project Management and Project Engineering.
Plan and manage the annual maintenance turnaround which is normally around Xmas and New Year.
Accept personal responsibility to ensure all company policies are adhered too including contribution to a safe workplace and compliance with the Allnex EEO program
Undertake any other reasonable task as requested by the Site Manager - Botany.
Required skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical.
Extensive knowledge & experience in the fields of Project Engineering.
Proven ability to manage contractors and implement projects on brown field sites.
A sound knowledge of, and commitment to, Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment principles and practices.
Ability to manage & motivate teams of technicians, engineers & contractors on projects.
Ability to work with other groups of the Company in assisting & promulgating new projects on the site.
Extensive knowledge of electrical standards for Dangerous Goods environments.
Be competent in numeracy skills & have a clear grasp of finance/financial controls required to justify & control projects.
Qualifications
Master or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering or other technical field.
