Join us as Engineering Manager who is an integral part of the operations team and is responsible for all engineering activities within the PAEN business. This includes, tendering support, designing, development, testing and Commissioning in Process Automation Business Area. Reporting to Local Division Manager, will lead and develop the engineering teams across the business.The Engineering Manager will contribute towards the sustainable growth of the business and will be based in Fortitude Valley Brisbane.
Your responsibilities
Responsible for all electrical and automation engineers across the business and driving high quality of engineering delivery across projects in PAEN business
Developing and implementing strong engineering practices for success project delivery and providing technical guidance and mentoring for the business automation engineers
Ensuring compliance with engineering standards for the PAEN Business and managing of documents to ensure compliance against the documentation procedures of the Local Division
Managing of engineering competency across the business and identification of competency gaps against future business direction and ensuring all work is adequately re-sourced to be undertaken in a safe and cost-effective manner to meet the requirements of the customer
Resource planning to ensure the utilization of engineers are against the budget and Improving engineering efficiency and in turn lowering the cost to undertake business
Coaching and leading the engineering team to achieve personal and organizational ob-ject and developing talent and succession planning within the engineering team
Managing and reporting on engineering budgets and performance KPI’s and taking ownership of the engineering budgets by working closely with the sales team during the sales phase
Collaborating with other Local Divisions to drive engineering outcomes on projects sometimes outside the direct field of expertise and actively participate in Hub initia-tives and drive it to closure in Australia
Your background
Bachelor of Electrical/Automation/Mechatronics engineering or equivalent qualification with demonstrated experience
Strong knowledge in ABB automation products (800xA, S+, Advant Master)
Strong communicator (written and oral) and experience in managing large, distributed teams.
Proven experience working on projects with different size, complexity, and contractual types and strong understanding of best practices in engineering delivery.
Ability to assess, propose and implement solutions for rapid recovery of troubled or challenged projects (need based).
On time delivery and keeping or improving the margins of the orders and strong customer focus.
