About our Engineering Team
The Jetstar Engineering Team are at the forefront of delivering operational excellence. They are responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of our fleet.
As part of the investment in our future, we have a fleet of new A320NEO’s arriving from mid-2022 and we recently launched the Melbourne Engineering Precinct, which is the primary maintenance hub of our network. Our team has the opportunity to work not only on Jetstar aircraft, but also support Qantas Group A320/1, B717 and A321 Freighter aircraft and Jetstar Branded Airlines (JBA’s) in Singapore and Japan. The Melbourne Precinct has also become the proud new home for our Apprentice Program.
The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an Engineering Training Coordinator to join our Engineering team!
This position will be responsible for coordinating the day to day and future planning of the Engineering training requirements as identified in the Training Burden.
The Engineering Training Coordinator will work closely with the engineering managers to identify regulatory, business support and development training needs which is built into the Engineering Training Matrix.
Reporting to the Engineering Training Manager, key responsibilities of this role include:
Developing an agreed Training Strategy & Plan with the Engineering business to support all Instructor Led Training needs
Coordinating all Engineering training & needs analysis required to support the Engineering Function, to protect the Program Schedules and to ensure currency is maintained.
Liaising with Engineering Managers & Finance Partners, developing a Training Schedule and ensuring the associated training costs are captured as appropriate in the budget.
Monitor & report (including recovery plans/escalations as appropriate) training plan & budget progress/status, at the associated Projects and Business governance forums & reporting as required.
Ensure training record integrity is maintained via the Learning Management System (LMS) and Training team digital repository.
Document via the appropriate procedures all relevant training activity in line with aviation standards.
If you bring the following qualification and experience, then we would love to hear from you:
Relevant tertiary qualification preferred, Cert IV in Training & Assessment (desired/not essential)
Aircraft Industry Training Experience (desired)
Good negotiation skills and implementation of high-profile projects / initiatives
Proven record in initiative, determination, and achievement
Detailed understanding of regulatory requirements for engineering maintenance organisations.
Excellent customer service skills – capable of identifying customer needs – using various data sources
Sound knowledge of time and priority management, business analysis and review techniques
Prior experience using Success Factors or similar Learning Management Systems.
