Enrolled Nurse full time needed for the Adult Outpatients Department at Prince of Wales Hospital which provide care for outpatients across a broad range of clinical specialties from complex surgical clinics to medical specialists clinics. This temporary full time position is available January 2023 to July 2023. Adult OPD is open Monday to Friday day shifts only and closed on weekends and public holidays.

Prince of Wales Hospital is a 440 bed tertiary referral facility with specialties unique to this campus such as hyperbaric medicine, acute spinal cord injuries and interventional neuroradiology. Each year we support approximately 25,000 emergency presentations, 2,500 operations and thousands of outpatient treatments. We provide a 24 hour Emergency Department (ED) supported by an Intensive Care Unit and pioneering telehealth facilities in stroke and COVID-19, to connect the team in Randwick with specialists across NSW Health.A new Acute Service Building will be opening early 2023 with state of the art modern facilities aimed at providing an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person centred care.

The Enrolled Nurse delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of the Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) consistent with SESLHD and POWH policies, procedures and standards.
The Enrolled Nurse works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, and assists in the provision of nursing care. Enrolled Nurses retain responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the Registered Nurse for delegated functions.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Selection Criteria * Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration, including intravenous therapy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders.
- Supports working in a person centred environment.
- Current professional practice knowledge base.
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles.
