About the role
Applications are sought from Enrolled Nurses who have/will complete a Diploma in Nursing between January 2022 and 1st February 2023 to join the John Hunter Hospital (JHH) Enrolled Nurse Transition to Practice Program (ENTP). This program will commence on 6th March 2023. You will have an opportunity to gain both surgical and medical nursing experience working in John Hunter Hospital Medical Interventional Services and Surgical Services. This program is supported by scheduled education days and supernumerary/ward orientation days.
Your ENTP Clinical Nurse Educator targets the EN Scope of Practice and delivers education and purposeful rounding in accordance with the identified JHH skills sets and The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s Enrolled Nurse Standards for Practice. Provision for 3 supernumerary days for first rotation, 2 supernumerary days for second rotation. DETECT and personal de-escalation training days included and 4 additional education days targeted to ENTP professional development.

To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
