Position are available at Wollongong and Shellharbour Hospitals - within adult acute, PECC, rehab, adolescent and older persons mental health.
What you'll be doing
The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for the provision of compassionate and professional nursing care to all patients in accordance with the philosophies of the Mental Health Service. The Enrolled Nurse is the consumer's advocate and delivers high quality nursing care to consumers of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District consistent with the LHDs policies, procedures and standards.
The Enrolled Nurse works under the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse. The Enrolled Nurse retains responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the Registered Nurse for delegated functions.
Professional development and active participation in the service Quality Improvement program are integral components of the role. All staff are expected to act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote culture and supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with patients, clients and employees.
The Enrolled Nurse without notation is to administer medications that are within their scope of practice.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria * Enrolled nurse (Division 2) with a current Authority to Practice from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and current NSW Driver's License (if required by service).
- Demonstrated commitment to person centred care and NSW Health Core Values.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mental health nursing.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

- Experience in working with people of indigenous, culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
