Job Posting Title : Enterprise Architect
Contract Duration : 6-month day rate contract(with 6 months possible extension)
Resource Expectations:
The requirements are for Enterprise Architecture capability commensurate with SFIA skills level 6.
Responsibilities include:
1. Lead the strategic development of the enterprise strategy, systems capability strategy and architecture competency within organisation by keeping abreast of professional services market and technology advances to support strategic requirements of the business.
2. Develop plans to strategically position organisation with respect to information management and technologies and advise on the development strategies, policies, standards and practices across the organisation ensuring the buy-in of all key stakeholders.
3. Gather market and environmental trends, existing business and technology strategies and identify business benefits of alternative strategies including improvements in technology, information or data practices, roles, procedures, and equipment.
4. Provide strategic technical leadership to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of organization's Application portfolio through the development of roadmaps that reflect insight and understanding of how current and emerging capability can be leveraged to meet future business strategy and direction.
5. Develop detailed business cases including extension information on high-level initiatives and present findings to Manager ICT Architecture, Executive Leaders or in some cases to the CEO and Board for implementation.
6. Ensure compliance between business strategies, technology strategies and enterprise transformation activities.
7. Oversee the design of ICT architecture and data interchange components of business solutions and provide high quality consulting and advisory services in accordance with enterprise requirements.
8. Proactively maintain architectures (BIDAT) and ensure consistency of solution design standards across projects and programs by working collaboratively with other ICT Architects, Enterprise Architects and Solution Designers.
9. Contribute actively to a learning organisation through the development of ICT architecture consultancy competencies by: -
- Keeping abreast of the professional services market and technology advances;
- Ensuring that skills and competencies are kept relevant;
- Creating an environment that facilitates knowledge sharing and developing people;
- Demonstrating "teamplayer" behaviours that guide and mentor people through effective sharing of professional skills and knowledge; and
- Maintaining a professional network.
10. Apply innovative thinking to process and product improvement that develops professional consulting competencies to improve efficiency and quality of customer service.
Skills Required:
1. Extensive knowledge of Enterprise Architecture (EA) with experience in applying information technology and business planning, policy strategy and architecture development in a large complex organisation.
2. Extensive knowledge of end-to-end design and delivery of business solutions with a specific focus on application and data interchange components in a distributed environment to meet business requirements and strategic direction consistent with best practice solution delivery framework and architecture standards
3. Extensive knowledge of Standard Operating Environments, life cycle management and emerging trends.
4. High level of skills in assessing and effectively harnessing emergent practices and technologies within complex organisations.
5. High level of conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. High level of interpersonal, negotiation, oral and written communication skills including comprehending, synthesising and articulating complex issues.
7. Knowledge of and willingness to commit to and work within Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours.
