About the role:
As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our projects and operations comply with environmental regulations and best practices. You will provide expert advice, conduct assessments, and implement strategies to minimize environmental impacts and promote sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Implement environmental management plans and policies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Provide expert advice on environmental matters to project teams and management.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and community groups regarding environmental concerns.
- Promote environmental awareness and best practices within the organisation.
- Manage environmental incidents and lead investigations to determine root causes.
- Stay updated with the latest environmental legislation and industry developments.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental related role within Infrastructure or construction – preferred but not essential
- Exceptional customer service capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Strong skills in data analysis, interpretation, and analytical thinking, combined with proficient report writing and preparation to meet external compliance requirements.
- Expertise in conducting environmental audits and investigating environmental incidents.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and complete assignments within designated deadlines.
- Familiarity with environmental legislation, standards, and codes of practice specific to NSW and/or VIC.
