The Opportunity
My client is looking for an Environmental Officer to help ensure their commitments to the environment and social responsibility are planned for, met and continuously improved. Other key responsibilities include:
- Support the Environmental Manager with the implementation of the operation's Environmental Strategy;
- Involvement as required to manage receiving Environment Management Plans, Habitat Management Zones, Cultural Heritage Sites, Pest Plants and Animals, Creek Diversions and other focus areas of the operation;
- Administer environment management processes across site and monitor performance against regulatory commitments;
- Identify, monitor and provide input to site initiatives, including sustainability performance reports (e.g. carbon footprint, energy and water consumption and waste performance, etc); and
- Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures within the department.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A tertiary degree in Environmental Science (or relativable / equivalent in nature);
- Industry-relevant experience in mining, oil & gas, manufacturing or heavy industrial; and
- The ability / desire to live and work in the Hunter Valley NSW.
