About the Company
Our large NSW State Government client is determined to make NSW a place where everyone has access to safe and secure housing, where experiences of homelessness are rare, brief and non-recurring.

About the Role
They are currently seeking an Environmental Sustainability Analyst with projects to join their team working  remotely from home. This is an estimated 6-month temporary assignment, with a potential to extend.

Reporting to the Manager, Environmental Sustainability, you will be required to contribute to the development and implementation of Environmental Sustainability strategy 2024-2026; including policies, strategies and projects that focus on energy/water/resource efficiency upgrades to support sustainable communities whilst adapting to climate change, reducing environmental risks and continually improve environmental performance

Responsibilities

  • Assist and deliver actions for the Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2024-2026
  • Review relevant Environmental Sustainability policies, strategies and legislation across governments nationally & internationally relating to Housing Portfolio
  • Conduct research, gather and collate information
  • Identify and monitor emerging trends and issues whilst mitigating risks
  • Update and maintain asset registers through the use of data cleansing, building macro’s and extracting data
  • Review and scrutinise reports relating to energy and water usage, climate risk, portfolio assessment maintenance and financial data
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop Environmental Sustainability policies for residential and social housing
  • Develop and implement energy efficiency upgrade proposals including solar, air conditioners, ceiling insultation, heat pump hot water systems
  • Prepare a Net Zero Plan and Climate Change Adaptation Plan
  • Provide specialist technical advice to improve energy and water efficiency along with climate resilience
  • Prepare briefing materials, proposals, pilots and business cases on a range of Environmental Sustainability issues to the Minister & Senior Managers
  • Generate routine reports on policy and project progress
  • End to end project management including project plans, status updates, milestones, deliverables and managing external consultants
  • Support staff to adopt Environmental Sustainability practices
  • Contribute to the design, content and technical specifications of information energy/water/resource efficiency
 
 
About You
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office suite and TRIM
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build macro’s
  • GREP (Government Resource Efficiency Policy) reporting experience desirable
  • Understanding and exposure to Climate Change, Energy Efficiencies, Topologies,
  • High attention to detail
  
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years Sustainability, Projects or Policy experience
  • Climate Risk Ready Course or willingness to undertake
  • Assets, Residential or Commercial building experience advantageous
  • Sustainability, Environmental, Energy, Utility or Public Sector experience
  • Thorough understanding of energy and water efficiency principles
  • Reliable remote internet access with the ability to work remotely from home
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
  • Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
