As our Estimator, you will be working closely with the production teams and will produce timely estimates of required labour and materials for customer projects.
While specific experience as an Estimator within heavy engineering manufacturing will be well regarded, you may well be a trade qualified and well-experienced “on the shop floor” environment and looking to take the next step in your career by a move into estimating.
The Estimator is responsible for generating routes within the manufacturing system for products created and processed at the Bassendean site. Using your prior estimation skill set you will provide timely and accurate quotations to the respective Bradken sales personnel based on estimated route cost within the Unibis Manufacturing system.
In addition, this role will also actively monitor product manufacturing route costs ensuring the Bassendean facility achieves budget targets and ensuring that products produced or processed at the Bassendean site reflect the most efficient method of manufacture. The estimator will also ensure cost accuracy of what’s captured within the manufacturing system to achieve optimum cost-effectiveness and compliance with customer and internal requirements.
This is an ideal role for someone who has a combination of understanding of Manufacturing processes & technologies and is also a strong communicator who can develop lasting key relationships with all stakeholders and takes on ownership of our manufacturing management systems. Working across multiple functional teams, you will be an expert with your ability to collaborate with others and drive cost-effective methods within our Bassendean manufacturing site.
Key Criteria:
- A trade background in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment is preferred.
- At least 5 years’ experience in estimating and/or controlling time and costs in a manufacturing environment.
