The team you will be joining pride themselves on delivering unique and innovative projects in the Educational, Commercial, Community, Aged Care, Health and Sports & Recreation sector of the Construction industry. Our client manages projects of between $1M to $30M, and pride themselves on their reputation and the connections built during the organisation’s lifetime.

Project Evaluation and Scope Definition
Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the project scope and requirements.
Identify any discrepancies or unclear elements in the project documents and seek clarifications from architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Cost Estimation and Budget Preparation: Cost Breakdown, Pricing Strategy and Budget Management
Quality Take-offs: Detailed Measurements and Software Utilizations
Risk Analysis: Identify Risks and Contingency Planning
Subcontractor and Supplier Coordination: Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they meet project specifications and budget requirements.
Analyze and compare bids to select the most suitable and cost-effective options.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure estimates align with project goals and constraints.
Present estimates to clients, explaining the rationale and assumptions behind the costs and addressing any questions or concerns.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed estimate reports, including assumptions, methodologies, and backup data to support the estimates.
Update estimates and budgets throughout the project lifecycle, reporting any variances and providing updated forecasts.
Regulatory and Compliance Adherence: Ensure all estimates comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards specific to the industry sectors (e.g., educational, health).
Incorporate sustainable practices and materials into the estimates, adhering to environmental regulations and goals.
Continuous Improvement and Market Analysis: Stay informed about market conditions, including price trends, availability of materials, and labor rates.
Continuously seek ways to improve the estimating process, incorporating feedback and lessons learned from past projects.
Bid Preparation and Submission: Prepare and submit competitive bid packages for projects, ensuring all client requirements are met and the proposal is comprehensive and persuasive.
Engage in post-bid negotiations and clarifications, adjusting estimates as required based on client feedback and additional information.
About You:
This role could be for you, if you’re passionate about your career in Construction. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years estimating experience in Commerical Construction projects, and preferably in the industry sector listed of Education, Community, Civic, Health and Sports & Recreation. You must also consider the long term opportunity, and be sure that you see yourself in a Leadership and client facing role.
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate:
Experience: 3-5 years in Commercial Construction and preferably working within the desired industry sectors.
Proficiencies: Able to estimate project costs accurately using software, and a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
Detail-Oriented: Great attention to details for accurate estimates and exceptional mathematical abilities coupled with strong cost analysis skills.
Communication: Excellent communication and people skills - adept at engaging with diverse stakeholders.
