Club Demonstration Services (CDS) Australia has an exciting opportunity for an Event Manager to join our team at an upcoming Costco Store in Coomera, Gold Coast (QLD). The tentative opening date for the new store is June 2023.
Please note, this is a full time permanent position.
About us
Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is the preferred in-house event marketing provider to Costco. We offer the best person-to-person marketing services in the industry, driving sales for our customers and Costco.
The Role
An Event Manager is responsible for effectively manage a team of 25-30 Sales Advisors (product demonstrator's) for them to be able to carry out their daily operational functions smoothly.
As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Directing and coordinating the event/demonstrations activities leading to successful execution
- Instruct and provide oversight to Events/Product Demonstrations
- Execute of all events with established quality, safety, and sanitation practices of warehouse operations.
- Ensuring customers/members are attended to and interactions are maintained
- Update weekly roster and timely reporting.
- Identify and participate in the recruitment and hiring process.
- Utilize progressive coaching and counselling concepts according to established policies and procedures, to provide continuous feedback on performance, increase employee retention and improve employee relations.
- Interact with store management and associates to address issues and review results.
- Set and maintain Food Safety and Sanitation Standards and ensure workplace safety for all associates.
- Create, establish, and maintain good stakeholder relationships.
- Conduct accident/incident investigation as per company guidelines and document findings.
Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in business management or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory/leadership position
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in previous roles.
- Retail/Hospitality experience is ideal but not essential.
- Willingness to grow and learn with a global team.
- Confident in recruiting, training and counselling for correction measures as required.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulatory standards and practices
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Problem solver and a multi-tasker
- Proficiency in computer operations and MS Office applications and exposure to online work systems
- Good oral and written communication skill
Successful Completion of food safety supervisor certificate is a plus. This may be completed once hired.
