About Nickel West
Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business. Our culture is rich with technical know-how, highly efficient and focused on innovation. The business employs over 2500 people from five operations across Western Australia comprising of nickel underground and open-cut mines, concentrators, a smelter and a refinery. We also have plans to expand our operations with new mines in the northern Goldfields and a large nickel sulphate plant in Kwinana.
A member of the BHP Group, Nickel West is undergoing an exciting business transformation to become a globally significant supplier of battery materials to the electric vehicle market. Nickel West will soon become the world’s largest producer of Nickel Sulphate, a key ingredient in lithium-ion batteries. As the world’s largest producer of nickel briquettes and nickel powder, Nickel West is leading the new-energy revolution in Western Australia.
Located 30 kilometres south of the Perth, the Nickel West Kwinana produces nickel briquettes and nickel powder. While many employees live in Perth, Fremantle and Mandurah, the Kwinana region is a thriving coastal township with three public beaches, excellent schools, modern shopping facilities and a wide variety of housing options.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant to work closely with the General Manager and wider Leadership Team, as well other key stakeholders at Nickel West providing high level administrative support.
Key accountabilities included the following:
• Provides executive administrative support to the GM
• Responsible for the proactive management of the GM’s diary and email.
• Manage organisation of day-to-day activities, forward planning and co-ordination of meetings
• Proactively manages information flow and communications, including internal and external calls, requests and correspondence and delegation of other matters to appropriate employees.
• Collates and prepare presentations, papers, documents, including collection and interpretation of data from key contacts.
• Supports GM on projects as required.
• Maintains confidential records and filing of reports, correspondence and related material.
• Supporting the functions of the business where required (HR, Finance, HSE)
• Site administration tasks such as assisting with external visitors, site access requirements, catering, and other general administration duties.
About You
We are looking for someone who resilient, adaptable, and embraces change. You will be required to work well with ambiguity and under pressure, at times with conflicting priorities. Experience in stakeholder management and administration at an executive level for a large organisation is preferred.
The successful candidate is most likely to possess the following:
• Previous experience in an Executive Assistant role
• Sound business judgement, ability to maintain confidentiality and extremely strong commitment to high ethical standards, aligned to BHP Charter Values.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (crisp, confident, clear and succinct).
• Significant and effective engagement with senior business stakeholders.
• High professionalism and strong motivation, a positive outlook and a performance driven nature.
• Excellent organisational skills with a focus on operating discipline and a performance driven nature.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel and Word). SAP experience is desirable
