How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
The position delivers executive level support to the General Manager, Strategy, Planning and Climate Change ensuring the smooth running and coordination of the office by performing a range of high level administrative functions. The position provides support across the organisation as directed.
The position is critical in partnering with and supporting Executives within a political, complex and multi-faceted organisational environment. The position works autonomously managing all day-to-day activities, anticipating and responding to business requirements. As an executive support level role, the incumbent has a leadership role in guiding and coaching the broader administrative team across the respective business area.
From time to time, the position may be required to support more than one General Manager.
What you will bring…
Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values –integrity, courage, accountability, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
Extensive experience in supporting senior executive level positions with the ability to anticipate needs and multi-task within a fast-paced, high volume and multi-faceted business environment.
A relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience to an equivalent level.
Strong business acumen with a sound understanding of business priorities and the ability to pro-actively contribute to outcomes with a high level of professionalism and judgment.
Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate and liaise confidently and sensitively at all levels of the business.
Sound experience in reviewing and preparing high quality documents.
Highly developed customer service skills and demonstrated ability to be professional, diplomatic, assertive, discrete, courteous and maintain confidentiality.
A strong pro-active approach applying initiative to independently manage workflow and apply sound judgment in making decisions with limited direction.
