Our client, a highly innovative energy technology solution provider is searching for an Executive Director of Sales to lead their growing APAC team.
We are looking for a results-driven sales professional for the Australian Hub who will be responsible for continuing to expand our clients existing customer pipeline in the region. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to have complete ownership of the company’s current Australia opportunities, generate leads, close contracts and have significant impact on the business whilst growing the Australian business and expanding the local sales team and in the long term being responsible for the market P&L.
As the Executive Director of Sales you will be responsible for designing and implementing the regional Sales and Marketing strategy that will drive growth, meet or exceed revenue targets and continue to raise visibility of services and products within the market. The right candidate will be a local market expert, possess knowledge of key partners and have experience in the renewable energy industry.
Responsibilities:
Define and implement sales strategy for the region in accordance with company and business area targets
Develop & strengthen relationships with sales channels and local partners, TSOs, DNOs and Energy Traders to further the company’s involvement in Australia.
Lead all business development activities across the market
Own the sales cycle within the region for new and existing customers
Provide regular sales reporting to leadership team of all regional sales activities
Act as the liaison between new/existing customers and product development. Ascertain customer needs and discuss how their needs could be met. Provide feedback to products team.
Deep knowledge and credibility in the following areas: Sales of highly technical products & services to Electric Utilities in the Australian Region
Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
Proven ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
Proven ability to independently drive the sales opportunities from plan to close
Can build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
Have a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and how global services and product portfolio can provide value
Solutions driven mindset giving you the ability to map the right solutions to help customers solve problems and reach their goals
Attend industry conferences
Be prepared to undertake significant national and international travel
Key Skills and Experience
7+ years of working in a sales role within the Australian transmission/distribution (T&D) sector
Professional salesperson with connections at a senior level, plus strong negotiation skills and hunter mindset
Experienced in Salesforce
Measurable track record of delivering commercially and consistently achieving sales targets
Demonstrate ability to think creatively and commercially
Enthusiastic team player with strong analytical skills
Can do attitude and proven adaptability
Highly motivated and a self-starter. Experience of a start up/scale up environment would be a bonus.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to successfully interact internally and externally.
Ideally, be educated to degree level (or equivalent)
