Currently, we have two (2) Executive Director role opportunities:

Executive Director, Health, and Stronger Communities
Leads and directs the division responsible for delivering strategic and fiscal advice for the Health cluster and Stronger Communities cluster. This role ensures that Treasury develops and executes on a ‘delivery’ focus and provides insights across Treasury and the sector to ensure we deliver on the Treasurer’s Priorities.
Executive Director, Strategic Policy, Education, and Customer Service
Leads and directs the division responsible for delivering strategic and fiscal advice for the Education and Customer Service clusters and First Nations and Energy and Environmental strategic policy areas. This role ensures that Treasury develops and executes on a ‘delivery’ focus and provides insights across Treasury and the sector to ensure we deliver on the Treasurer’s priorities.

About the Teams

The Policy & Budget Division (P&B) works collaboratively with agencies and partners to the State, to deliver fiscal, budget, and balance sheet outcomes for the State and citizens of NSW. The division encompasses sector-wide teams focused on i) Budget, ii) Outcomes Evaluation & Review, iii) Strategic Balance Sheet Management, and agency relationship teams covering v) Strategic Policy, Education & Customer Service, vi) Health and Stronger Communities, vii) Transport, Investment & Infrastructure.

Health & Stronger Communities (HSC) Division: The HSC Division is responsible for managing Treasury’s engagement with all the agencies in the Health and Stronger Communities Clusters. The Division provides strategic advice to the government on financial and non-financial performance as well as across a broad range of social policy areas including current and future health system reforms; mental health; disability policy; criminal justice and youth justice systems; courts and tribunals; policing and emergency services; housing and homelessness; child protection; domestic and family violence; sport; and support for disadvantaged and vulnerable cohorts.
Strategic Policy, Education & Customer Service (SPECS) division: The SPECS Division is responsible for managing Treasury’s engagement with all agencies in the Education and Customer Service clusters, and for leading on strategic policy regarding First Nations Outcomes and Energy and Environment policy areas. The Division provides strategic advice to the government on financial and non-financial performance matters as well as across a broad range of social policy areas, including NSW public schools and early childhood education reform, vocational education training and skills, First Nations Closing the Gap policy, and programs, digital investment strategy, water strategies, climate change, and sustainability.

Treasury provides advice to inform budget decision-making; manages the State’s principal financial assets and liabilities; monitors the performance of its commercial agencies; advises on performance and financial management policies; and supports the development of policy advice and implementation of programs focused on energy, climate-change mitigation and adaptation, and the transformation to a new low-cost, clean-energy economy.
