The Executive Manager, Development Services reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for providing high level advice to the Tablelands Regional Council Leadership Team in all aspects of planning and development services. The primary focus of the role will be to balance the provisioning of strategic direction, expert advice and operational delivery in building and plumbing certification, development services and strategic and statutory planning.
The Executive Manager, Development Services is accountable for providing quality and efficient Planning and Development Services which include strategic land use planning and policy, building/plumbing certification, council approvals and development assessment (planning and engineering). You will be the subject matter expert in all matters planning and development and lead the strategic and operational aspects for Tablelands Regional Council.
The Executive Manager, Development Services is a key leadership position and is part of the broader Leadership Team. The role contributes to setting the planning agenda for long term sustainable growth of the region, in addition to providing leadership and staff capability development which aligns with Tablelands Regional Council’s values. Council is seeking a customer centric leader with extensive planning and development experience to lead a team of empowered staff through cultural change. To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated track record of leadership and management experience particularly in planning, development and building/plumbing inspections. You will ideally also have knowledge and expertise in current best practice, policy directions and priorities relating to the delivery of development and planning services with a strong understanding of the local government sector.
