Mapoon is located 85 km north of Weipa and approximately 860km north of Cairns. One of the most scenic areas on the Western Cape, Mapoon enjoys the bounty produced by the Wenlock and Ducie River systems and the abundance from the Gulf of Carpentaria. The ecology is diverse and an abundance of birdlife, there is plenty to see and do. Mapoon is one of the gem places where you can finish work and hook a barramundi before tea-time.
The position of Executive Manager Infrastructure Services is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is responsible for the strategic leadership of the following functions/Services:
- Infrastructure
- Mechanical Workshops
- Building and Construction
- Disaster Management
- Emergency Services
- Asset Management
- Project management and delivery
- Technical working group
We are seeking candidates with a strong Local Government experience who can lead and develop teams focused on serving their community. We are seeking a suitably qualified executive who knows what it takes to run a community based government organisation. We are seeking someone with strong leadership capacity and a vast knowledge and experience in the building and construction sector and all things infrastructure.
Others will describe you as having unlimited drive and energy with ambition to get things done. Understandably you will have strong interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills and be renowned for your ability to communicate with those with varying levels of education and understanding of the work required. You will also display genuine empathy, appreciation and an understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island culture, systems and protocols.
