About The Opportunity
We have an exciting senior leadership opportunity to join our Private Health Insurance team for a Senior Product Manager. Reporting to, and working in collaboration with the General Manager, Healthcare Management & Product, this newly created role will ultimately be responsible for Australian Unity’s product portfolio - that is, managing the lifecycle (from concept to market to monitoring to eventual closure) of all Australian Unity’s Private Health Insurance and Overseas Visitor Cover products and product related services.
What you will deliver
Create, communicate and execute a comprehensive and adaptive product strategy, roadmap and plan for the health fund
Analyse and benchmark competitor activity related to products and related services and prepare targeted responses as required
Build and implement competitive products and develop pricing strategies and product price points
Deliver clear articulation products that are taken to market, including segmentation, categorisations and distribution considerations
Maintain, monitor & where appropriate consolidate, close or expand the current product portfolio
Facilitate product innovation including the development and implementation of Retail platform product synergies
Develop retention strategies through product design and incorporation of member feedback
Proactively work with Marketing, Customer & Digital and e-Commerce teams to align relevant campaigns, projects and plans that cross over into product activities
Build key relationships in the business to ensure the customer is at the forefront when decisions are made
Display a high level of resilience and tenacity, developing strategies to maintain physical and mental wellbeing
Lead & develop a high performing team, partnering and collaborating across functions to deliver on key strategic initiatives and drive “customer front and centre” mind set
Prepare recommendations and actions required to the Product Steering Committee.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a senior professional with exceptional people leadership experience, as well as proven capability delivering to business and commercial strategic objectives across an organisation, with a diverse portfolio of businesses.
In addition to this you will also possess:
Tertiary qualifications in a related field desirable. Successful completion of a relevant post-graduate qualification would be highly regarded
Demonstrated experience within Private Health Insurance in product and/or provider purchasing (preferred)
Strong commercial acumen, with understanding of business drivers and an ability to build relationships and drive outcomes with stakeholders (both internal and external) at all levels
Ability to engage and mobilise teams to deliver to business outcomes, coupled with demonstrated experience building, developing and coaching high performing teams
A customer obsession and ability to drive this thought leadership across the various business teams
