About the Role
The MDPQD EO works directly to the FAS and with other members of divisional staff to support the MDPQD FAS office and outcomes being delivered by the division. The EO is required to undertake executive and administrative support activities with a high level of professionalism and skill.
Duties
- Preparing, coordinating and proofing complex and/or sensitive correspondence, corporate documentation, submissions, speeches, talking points, briefing papers and other strategic communication and correspondence.
- Providing strategic advice to the FAS about divisional matters and ensuring that they remain informed and aware of issues requiring attention.
- Provide leadership to the Executive Assistant (EA) to the FAS as well as the EA's to the Assistant Secretaries in the division to deliver results by motivating, guiding and developing staff, and identifying opportunities to enhance team performance.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results, manage multiple priorities and respond flexibly in a high pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to exercise sound judgement and highly developed administrative, planning and organisational skills.
- High level relationship management skills, together with the ability to build and sustain strong networks and relationships across the department and with external stakeholders.
- Understanding of the operations of the department, knowledge of ministerial and parliamentary processes or the ability to quickly attain this.
The successful candidate will be offered an EL1 equivalent hourly rate contract. Notionally, a 6 - 12 month conteact. This position is based in Fairburn, ACT.
