Job description

Brisbane-homed Xzibit has been creating bespoke exhibitions, educational spaces and retail environments since 2005. At Xzibit we define ourselves as storytellers, and are proud of our creative and unique approach to helping clients stand out from the crowd.

Our bespoke high-end stands, made from a high-quality modular system, are the perfect choice to get customers talking. For visitor centres and museum clients, we focus on sharing stories through creating immersive experiences filled with innovative, engaging media.

Hi, I'm Vanessa, Xzibit's Business Manager and I'm on the lookout for a switched on and detail-focused individual to support me in the design of our exhibition projects, based in our Luscombe office.

Who are you? Well, you have at least 3 years experience in design, Industrial Design or similar, a solid understanding of Sketchup or CAD software, experience with Adobe Creative Suite... Plus strong attention to detail and an ability to convert ideas into practical concepts. - if that's in the exhibition space even better.

Just as importantly though, people probably describe you as:
A great multi-tasker - maybe people even call you an 'Energiser Bunny'
Self-confident. Comfortable expressing your opinion and your expectations
A bit of a 'sheepdog'... comfortable following through and taking charge
Sociable yet you know when it's time to focus on the task at hand
Organised.
Action-oriented. You love to GSD
A reliable go-to person - but you're no push over
A natural leader in your space. You take the initiative and people follow you
Even keeled - you see the world through a balanced (not emotional) perspective

You may be just who I'm looking for!

The gig?

Working alongside our Creative Team, Interp Team, Project managers and Production Department, the role of the designer is to capture the imagination of our creatives and clients to bring their ideas to life. Visually representing concept, accurately generating working drawings, graphic schedules and preparing detailed site plans for exhibitions and educational spaces. Salary of $75K - $80K (based on experience) plus Super' of course.

Why us?

Located halfway between the Gold Coast and Brisbane Corridor, Xzibit started as a humble side hustle in 2005 with just a laptop, cardboard file-o-fax and instant coffee. After many years creating bespoke exhibitions, educational spaces and retail environments for Australian and global brands, Government agencies, councils and tourism attractions, Xzibit has built a strong reputation for creativity and excellence.

The team continues to grow and after a number of upgrades to our shed (and coffee machine!), we have now moved into our own a purpose-built office & workshop facility. We work hard, we’ve got each other’s backs and we love to have a bit of fun too; as our regular darts tournaments and beer taps can attest!

Xzibit is also committed to lending a helping hand where we can. On top of striving to be the premier expo, museum and visitor centre designers in Australia, we’re also dedicated to feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, educating children and meeting local community needs.

Sound interesting? Why not hit the Apply button, build your profile (no need for a CV or cover letter - wo hoo!). Do a little 10-minute self-assessment that tells us a bit about your nature - and we'll be in touch!

EVERY application will be acknowledged. EVERY applicant will be advised the outcome of their application.

Xzibit is an equal opportunity employer and we encourage applications from all people who believe they have the right blend of experience and character.
