Chandler Macleod in partnership with a national Poultry Production and Manufacturing company, are seeking an experienced Production Planner for their site in Laverton, Western Melbourne.
The position of Production Planner is primarily responsible for the supply of the correct number and size of birds into the primary processing sections of the production line to ensure there is sufficient product to meet customers orders.
The Production Planner also ensures, through proper planning, that all orders are produced in full and the necessary persons are informed of any shortages or add ons.
You will also be required to utilise your forecasting skills, analytical skills and the person holding the position needs to be decisive to achieve meeting customer requirements.
Objectives of the Role
To ensure supply of a superior product.
To plan ahead ensuring adequate supply of product is available.
To liaise with all parties to ensure communication lines remain open.
Availability
Standard work hours 9am - 6pm. There will be on occasion the need for early AM starts and late finishes in the PM.
Some Saturdays are required on occasion, as per needs of the business at paid accordingly.
Essential Skills / Licences
Previous experience in production planning
Must be permanent resident of Australia or Australian citizen
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Intermediate Computer Skills in particular Excel
Ability to make quick and correct decisions "on the job" and throughout a production day
Ability to achieve production targets
Ability to use hard copy and computer based production schedules on a weekly, daily and hourly basis
Excellent planning skills particularly in relation to control of a large workforce and control of product flow along a moving line and through a daily production process with competing supply priorities
Well developed problem solving skills with the ability to arrive at and implement long term preventative actions
A knowledge of quality systems, HACCP procedures and understanding of how day to day activities could impact on the environment
Formal training in computer based project management, data base and spreadsheet use
Structured leadership training including conflict resolution and problem solving
Quality Systems, HACCP and GMP Management
Maintain a Direct Working Relationship with Workplace Colleagues
