Job description

About Us

At Novum, we only work with clients who appreciate our work, value strong relationships, and positively impact the world.

As a result, our work must be high quality and carefully responsive to client and end user needs. We are not interested in the latest trends, or winning awards. We get excited by beautiful, well executed designs that exceed expectations and help humans thrive.

We specialise in school architecture and work with Independent and Catholic schools all over Queensland. At Novum, we’ve never had to advertise or compete for work because our existing clients are our biggest advocates and repeatedly recommend us to others.

As a team, two of our core focuses are quality work (through industry-leading design processes, best practice documentation, and quality assurance procedures), and longstanding partnerships with our clients.

In order to continue serving our growing community of school clients, we have been steadily growing our team. For us (and according to our clients), the quality of our people is our best and most important attribute, and we are genuinely excited to find the next great fit for our team!

Careers at Novum

Our beautiful, open plan office is currently located 10 minutes’ walk from Central and Fortitude Valley Train Stations, and from September 2024, we will be relocating to an even bigger and better space 1 minutes’ walk from Milton Train Station.

We have a welcoming, collaborative, social, and supportive atmosphere, with regular team collaboration, social events, celebrations, and our lunchroom is stocked with free snacks, fruit, tea, coffee, beer and wine.

Our culture rewards hard work and great outcomes, but also encourages rest, balance, and wellbeing. An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) service is provided to all team members, which includes free counselling sessions, and legal and financial advice.

While we encourage newcomers to work from the office as much as possible until they are settled into our team and culture, we do offer flexible working arrangements to those that need them, which can include flexible hours and working from home.

Steve Riddle, our in-house Leadership Mentor and Coach, provides 1:1 support to each of our team (with a particular focus on people in leadership roles), provides regular teamwork and culture workshops, and is a valued advisor to Novum’s Directors.

In addition to leadership, teamwork, and culture development, we also provide extensive Professional Development opportunities for all staff and invest significantly in industry leading systems, software and platforms to increase productivity and quality across the team. We have a collaborative approach to designing our office systems and policies so that each person has their voice heard and can genuinely contribute to how we work as a team.

Our workstations are ergonomically designed, with Herman Millar chairs and height adjustable desks, and we have beautifully appointed end of trip facilities for those that walk or cycle to work.

This opportunity represents a genuine opportunity for personal and career growth, while working on rewarding projects in a culture-led environment.
