A fantastic opportunity is available at Laguna Pacific Charters for the role of Skipper to MY Escapado on the east coast of Australia . This is a permanent position for private charters. Chartering out of Sydney, Gold Coast and Whitsundays. Working within a small team you will be responsible ensuring the vessel is maintained to the highest of standards.
The owner is a multiple vessel owner with a keen interest for fishing and exploring. Applicants with trade or engineering background will be highly regarded. Applicants with a keen interest in fishing/spearing are encouraged to apply.
As a Skipper you are an integral part of ensuring our guests experience the highest levels of service and maintain safety as a priority while conducting our charters.
Escapado has recently achieved 1D/2C survey, <24m the vessel is near new and in perfect condition.
Applicant requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Skipper.
- Experience in a customer focused environment
- Interest in wildlife, nature & local area
- Ability to work a part of a tight knit team and communicate with a broad demographic of guests.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well under pressure and autonomously
- Strong organizational skills
- Positive, friendly, and enthusiastic energy
Qualifications:
- Master V
- Med 2
- Current first aid certificate
- Marine radio ticket.
Key Tasks:
- Conducting daily charters.
- Ensuring the safety of all visitors and crew on board
- Preparing boat for daily use – Cleaning, packing/unpacking, refueling, emptying waste
- Greeting guests and assist with boarding; followed by welcome/safety brief, full commentary delivered throughout most charters.
- Maintaining the presentation and maintenance of vessels including daily washdowns after use.
- Daily check and report on equipment; specifically, safety equipment
- You will be required to be flexible in your working practices and undertake other duties as directed by management, including but not limited to preparing and cleaning all equipment.
- Strictly adhere to all Health and Safety policies
- Complete health and safety training in line with current legislations
- Adhere to all organizational WHS policies and procedures
Manage the crew to ensure the vessel is clean, safe and in good order for service.
