We currently have the opportunity for a full-time Assistant Manager in our Audit team to lead a portfolio of audit engagements and help mentor a high performing team. The position is based in Sydney CBD.
The Audit team is led by well-experienced Partners, supporting these Partners is a sizeable team of Directors and Managers. The divisions client base includes participants in the following industries financial services, manufacturing, renewables, property and NFPs, to name a few. The team use APS, Excel and Caseware software packages.
THE ROLE
As an Assistant Manager, you will take a leading role for a portfolio of audit engagements and work closely with Client Managers, Client Directors and Partners. You will have demonstrated an ability to review work, manage client relationships effectively and have coached junior team members.
Primary responsibilities for an Assistant Manager include:
· Lead the audit planning phase, including systems documentation, analysis of internal control systems, generation of overall audit plan and approach and of the audit program detailing the nature, timing and extent of audit procedures
· Complete audit testing based on the audit plan, ensuring work is completed within budget and on time
· Identify solutions to improve client's systems and performance
· Mentor and review the work of junior team members, providing feedback to assist in their development
· Prepare general and special purpose financial reports, and assist with reports summarising opportunities for improvement in client process, use of technology, cash flow and funding
· Assist the partner in closing the audit process; liaising with clients and regulatory authorities
· Assist senior managers with completion of client service plans
This position is being offered at a package of $100,000 - 120,000 per annum.
ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate will be an experienced Audit senior with the following experience and qualifications:
- Completed or nearing completion in Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accountancy with the Chartered Accountant Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), or international equivalent
- Experience leading audit engagements from planning through to completion, and servicing clients in a business services environment
- Experience mentoring and motivating junior team members
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive client relationships
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Thinks outside the square and is proactive and curious in mindset
- Exposure to electronic audit documentation systems such as Caseware and Idea
