Key duties:

• Provide supports to women and children who are experiencing, or at risk of, violence, including crisis response, advocacy, referrals, long-term case management, and group work.
• Complete risk assessments and safety planning in collaboration with women experiencing violence.
• Complete remote outreach via bush trips at least once a month.
• Work alongside the Community Development team as per the Strengthening Community Capacity to End Violence Framework.
• Model and facilitate effective and respectful communication that contributes to a supportive and reflective learning culture for the DFVS.

Skills & Experience:

• A tertiary or diploma qualification in Social Work, Community Services, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience working with women and families who are experiencing, or at risk of, domestic and Family Violence, including risk assessment and safety planning.
• An understanding of a trauma informed, holistic and relational approach to domestic violence service delivery, relevant for Aboriginal Australian cultural contexts.
• Ability to work cross-culturally, displaying strong intrapersonal and interpersonal skills and an ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.
• Hold a current drivers licence and ability to travel for regular bush trips.

You will also have or be willing to undergo a Working with Children Check and a Police Check.
