AddressWe are seeking an experienced and motivated farm assistant to join our team at our client's family-owned and operated property located 60km from Kingaroy. As a station/feedlot hand, you will be responsible for the operation of a range of machinery and equipment such as John Deere and Massey Ferguson tractors, telehandlers, loaders, bobcats, Penta mixer, trucks, UTVs, pumps, generators, grain mill, augers, and silos In this role you are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all machinery. You will also be required to assist with the efficient management of our client's 1500-4000 head cattle feedlot, including drafting, cattle entries and exits, mustering assistance, and low-stress cattle handling techniques. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing water infrastructure, unloading commodity trucks, mixing and delivering feed, maintaining roads, clearing, cleaning and building dams, assisting with animal health, record keeping, repairs, maintenance and administration as required.
The Property & Employer:
The property belonging to our client extends over an area of 7,500 acres dedicated to cattle backgrounding and 300 acres of cropping. Their team comprises four close-knit, young members, in addition to 18 working kelpies and 14 horses. The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is a true team player and not afraid of hard work. You must have extensive experience in cattle backgrounding and feedlot management, as well as a strong understanding of machinery and equipment operation and maintenance. Mechanical knowledge is essential to our client, and it will be highly regarded. You must be self-motivated, observant, and keen to make improvements not just to the work environment but also yourself.
