This is your chance to dive into the plastering trade, working alongside seasoned pros to master the skills and techniques that make a top-notch qualified plasterer.
You can expect to work full-time, 40 hours per week + the opportunity to accrue an RDO each month.
Become trade qualified and earn your Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining.
Apprenticeship duration: 4 years
As a plastering apprentice, you'll be engaged in a variety of tasks, including:
- Installing plasterboard on walls and ceilings, ensuring precise placement
- Fixing standard plasterboard sheets on walls and ceilings, securing them effectively
- Reading and interpreting plans to execute tasks accurately
- Achieving seamless finishes on plasterboard joins for a polished look
- Cutting and installing cornices to enhance the aesthetic appeal
- Planning plasterboard layout, incorporating insulation and vapour barriers
- Measuring, marking, cutting, and installing plasterboard panels securely
- Attaching pre-cast plaster fittings such as cornices, ceiling centres, and more
- Expertly covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds
- Mixing and applying plaster, cement, and render using trowels for uniform coats
- Applying and finishing specialised materials like acoustic, insulating, and fireproofing compounds.
To excel as an apprentice, applicants will ideally meet the following criteria:
- A genuine passion for learning the ins and outs of plastering
- Attention to Detail and problem-solving capabilities
- Physical Stamina: Apprenticeship requires lifting, positioning, and hands-on work
- Team Player: Collaboration with experienced plasterers and fellow apprentices
- Willingness to learn from mentors and adapt to different tasks
- Basic Math Skills: Necessary for measurements and calculations
- Safety Awareness
- Solid communication skills and reliability
- Must hold a Construction White Card or able to obtain at short notice
- Hold a current Australian Drivers License (Minimum Provisional) & have own reliable transport.
