AddressSaab Technology Center is growing fast in Tampere, and is seeking a highly motivated Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing outstanding technical support to our customers and ensuring that our products are performing optimally. This is truly a unique opportunity!
Your role
As a Field Application Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers have the best possible experience with our products. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs, provide product training, assist with deployment, troubleshoot problems, and serve as the customer's advocate within the organization.
Responsibilities will include:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction with our products
- Provide product training and technical support to customers, both on-site and remotely
- Assist customers with product deployment and integration, working closely with engineering and other internal teams as needed
- Troubleshoot problems and provide timely and effective solutions to customer issues
- Serve as the customer's voice within the organization, gathering feedback and relaying it to engineering, product management, and sales teams
- Serve as the primary technical resource for our customers, providing expertise in product related technologies
- Develop technical documentation and support materials for customers and internal teams
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and new technologies, and use this knowledge to provide expert advice to customers
Your profile
While a broad engineering background and a degree in a technical subject would be beneficial, we recognize that the best candidates may come from diverse backgrounds.
Therefore, we are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- A customer-centric mindset
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a comparable combination of education and work experience
- A suitable background in SW, RF, or system design and a desire to apply your expertise broadly in electronic warfare products
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling the establishment and maintenance of strong relationships with customers
- Prior experience in customer-facing roles, such as technical support, technical sales, or field application engineering
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to perform well under pressure
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
In this job, some of your tasks have a connection to defense secrecy. Therefore, a drug test and approved security clearance in accordance with the Finnish Security Clearance act 726/2014 is required for the selected applicant.

Your work place will be in Saab Technology Center in Tampere but since Saab is a global company this role will require some travelling and being able to communicate with your colleagues abroad.
