Department Overview
The Field Services Subscriber Support Technician will work closely with the functional teams (NOCC Manager, Service Delivery Manager, Operations Engineering Manager and National Support Services Manager and local Field and Engineering personal) as well as customers and sub-contractors to provide maximum exposure to operational issues and priorities. Will be locally supervised by WA Field Services team lead.
Job Description
- Provide radio subscriber technical support for customers, internal and external stakeholders to deliver radio communication solutions to meet defined requirements
- Proven ability to examine data, identify trends and extract information and make recommendations/conclusions based on findings
- Develop, update and maintain technical process and design documentation library
- Assist with the management and maintenance of Subscriber equipment ensuring data accuracy between Motorola and customer databases
- Change Management, including:
- Codeplug management including updating and maintaining associated documentation;
- Radio Manager server and application management;
- Encryption management;
- Contribute in meetings and interactions with stakeholders and customers
- Perform all work in accordance with relevant industry procedures and quality standards
- Achieve timelines whilst maintaining a high quality standard
- Maintain a neat and orderly facility
- Maintain conduct in accordance with Motorola's "Code of Conduct" and OH&S policies
- Inspection work may be required to be performed at locations other than the primary site
- Other duties as defined by direct supervisor
GENERAL EDUCATION:
Essential:
- Certificate III or IV in Electronics / Radio Trades Certificate or relevant trade qualification (in communications, radio or electronics) or Certificate IV in Telecommunications Networks Technology
Associate Diploma in Electrical / Electronics or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
- Possess strong skills in mathematics, logic and pattern recognition.
- Strong customer and team focus.
- Subscriber Solutions architecture design and dimensioning to provide customer required features and performance criteria
- Motorola two-way radio product and programming knowledge (TETRA, P25 and /or MotoTRBO)
- Appreciation for sense of urgency to ensure call out responses are punctual and within specified Key Performance Indicators and Service Levels
- A reasonable degree of physical fitness and agility is required to carry test equipment and access equipment on site.
- Excellent customer service skills, including good communication skills with drive for total customer satisfaction as result of work performed.
- Must have a basic understanding and respect for current ACMA telecommunication regulations.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and direction.
- Should have a systematic, analytical approach to fault finding.
- Must have the desire and ability to continually acquire technical knowledge of new products, systems and techniques and initiative to refer to technical product reference documentation.
- Maintain a neat, professional personal appearance.
- Conscientious approach to operational paperwork.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
