Job description

Do you have an automotive background and experience in aftermarket accessory / electrical installation? Do you want to work with newly developed, cutting-edge tech? If so, then this is the opportunity you have been waiting for!

Our client is a growing organisation with a strong background in construction and engineering. Their purpose is to create safer working environments through risk mitigation, delivered via the power of artificial intelligence. Due to company growth, they are looking to appoint a Field Installation Engineer, who will be both office-based (Sydney), and also engaged in field service activities, when required.

Your major activities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Installation of AI safety systems on heavy vehicles and equipment
  • Ongoing service and maintenance of installations
  • Carry out programming and test functions
  • Documenting installation procedures to help streamline future installs
  • Manage field trials and demonstrations
  • Facilitate on-site training and presentations
  • Creation and management of training material, wiring diagrams, and case studies
  • Liaise closely with engineering and product teams to identify and carry out design improvements
  • Support third party installers and distributors
  • Help test and debug both mechanical and electrical issues related to installations
  • Work in multidisciplinary project-based teams to explore new opportunities
  • Facilitate collection of real-world data for in-house AI team
  • Work safely within OHS requirements
To be successful in your application, the ideal candidate will need to demonstrate previous experience in electrical installations, be suitably qualified (automotive electrical preferred), have strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities, as well as be able to think critically, laterally and on your feet. Travel will be required in this role, so candidates will need to be comfortable with being away from home.

As there will be times that you are working unsupervised, candidates must be driven, self-motivated, independent, enthusiastic, and proactive. Preference will be shown to candidates that have worked in heavy industry, such as trucks, earthmoving, agriculture and machinery. Above all else, you must practice safe work practices, as that is what these systems and this business is all about.

A very attractive salary will be offered to the successful candidate with additional ongoing training and career development. For further information please contact Kelle Hope quoting job number AH6747. Resumes can be forwarded by email to jobs@autorecruit.com.au.
