The Field Sales Manager role is an excellent opportunity to join our Structural Heart team to manage,develop and maintainthe Cardiac Surgerybusiness in your defined region.
Core Responsibilities
Territory Management
- Achieve sales targets and increase marketshare for assigned territory as well as providing input to the overall performance of the state.
- Actively implement and execute sales force effectiveness initiatives to help drive business growth.
- Utilise available sales analysis tools to assist in territory planning and utilise internal resources to assist servicing customers within your territory
- Develop relationships with and service key customer groups, identify and utilise key customer networks.
- Maintain up to date product knowledge and actively participate in education programs.
- Assist with product marketing and launches and provide market feedback on product and competitor activity.
Sales Management
- Set a vision of excellence in results for the team and motivate employees to achieve goals and objectives
- Manage priorities and set expectations
- Actively implement and execute on strategies to improve the sales force effectiveness of reports including, routine coaching of selling skills, review of business development plans and consistent performance feedback.
- Roll out marketing strategies as directed
- Develop relationships with key opinion leaders & customers to develop sales and business strategies in line with company strategies.
- Maintain and develop the corporate image / ethical reputation
Both functions
- Manage consignment stock requirements.
- Comply with customer service and other administrative requirements within the required timeframe.
- This role may require on-call responsibilities to fulfil your duties and some travel (rural, interstate and international)
- Have a sound understanding of, and comply with, the industry(MTAA) the AbbottCode of Conduct and Company Compliance requirements
- Handle and document customer complaints according to Abbott ANZ Field Event Reporting Standard Operating Procedure.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the requirements of the Quality Management System.
- Knowledge of and commitment to Work, Health& Safety responsibilities.
- Action any other customer complaints with relevant Abbott ANZ Business Unit.
- Execute the position and Business Unit responsibilities according to applicable AbbottANZ Standard Operating Procedures
- Develop and maintains new business, working closely with Physicians to become a source of education and information.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
- Manage the administrative requirements including case coverage, staff leave and travel requests.
Position Accountability / Scope
- In conjunction with senior management, sales managers and field staff negotiate major deals and oversee tenders with customers and other stakeholders.
- Lead bottoms up forecasting process, communicate forecasts to management, articulate reasons for deviations from plan numbers, and suggest strategies to close gaps or accelerate overperformance.

Minimum Education and skills
- Tertiary qualifications in biomedical / engineering / medical science/ human movement or related field.
- Additional tertiary qualifications in business management are advantageous.
- Good Selling and influencing skills: Managing customer relationships, discovery of customer requirements, follow up of sales leads, demonstrating the products.
- Open communication and listening: Ensuring an accurate understanding and acting in a way that facilitates open exchange of ideas and information.
- Planning and organizing skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suites ie Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
