Field Service Technician / Mechanical Fitter (Onsite)

We are in the process of recruiting a number of qualified Mechanical Fitters for Field Service Technician roles, based in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Townsville. These roles are required to provide service and supervision to customer equipment such as GEHO positive displacement pumps, GEHO hydraulic paste pumps, steam turbines, gearboxes and generators. You will use your specialist skills and knowledge to provide support to customers in an onsite environment, ensuring safety of all personnel. Factory training for successful applicants is given in Venlo, Netherlands the home of GEHO.

The position requires travel to/from remote locations throughout the Asia Pacific region, including Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Philippines, Korea, and Indonesia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Create a relationship with the customer through face-to-face contact, fostering trust, reliability and strength through knowledge of the Weir Minerals product.
  • Assist in managing workshop activities and supply technical support to Weir workshops where required.
  • Provide service to customers with GEHO pumps and HPGR equipment, and all other non-EOM and Weir Minerals equipment where required.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification in Fitting/Machining - Certificate III or above.
  • While not mandatory a minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in a similar field is desired.
  • Proven ability to follow directions and work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and regular drug and alcohol tests.
