CMS Australia is seeking a Finance Director and Company Secretary to join our Sydney-based team, to support cross-cultural gospel mission through CMS across the world. We are looking for someone with servant-hearted leadership and experience in management, as well as a passion for effective financial and business systems to contribute to the vision and mission of CMS.

CMS Australia is the part of the federated CMS structure in Australia that selects, trains, sends and supports our 200 missionaries in over 40 countries.

About the role
As the CMS Australia Finance Director you will exercise a key leadership role in financial and business management to enable the organisation to fulfil its mission and vision. You will have oversight of finance, business, IT and human resources processes and systems.

The Finance Director will be part of the senior staff team, reporting to the International Director and contributing to support for mission personnel working in locations across the world and the CMS Australia office. CMS missionaries are paid in many different currencies, and a key part of the role involves working collaboratively to ensure that finances are managed for greater efficiency and effectiveness for CMS.

As Company Secretary you will also provide governance support to the CMS Australia Board of Directors.

This role requires:
CPA or CA qualifications with experience working as an auditor in a Big 4 accounting firm
Currently or having been a CFO
Experience in managing foreign exchange with a clear understanding of currency hedges
Demonstrated experience in managing teams
Active interest in mission
Existing valid working visa in Australia

Other desirable attributes include involvement with CMS, previous experience with cross-cultural and/or mission work, Christian not-for-profits, and Company Secretary roles, as well as familiarity with IT infrastructure and systems and human resources processes.

It is a requirement of this position that the incumbent will live and display a commitment to the Christian principles espoused and promoted by CMS-A and abide by the CMS Code of Conduct.
