About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Finance Officer will contribute to a range of activities in the Finance Team, including but not limited to supporting the team to process accounts payable, payroll, leave management and budget monitoring processes.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Manage Invoice processing and reconciliation in a timely manner.
- Ensure Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Compliance and Manage the process in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
- Manage and execute accurate and efficient fortnightly payroll processing and leave management.
- Credit card reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping and generate regular reports.
Role Requirements
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in related discipline (e.g., Certificate IV or Diploma in Finance, Business or Administration).
- Minimum three years’ experience in accounts payable, payroll or similar finance role.
- Demonstrated experience with accounting, procure-to-pay and payroll software packages is mandatory.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, payroll and procure-to-pay best practice.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to network and build effective working relationships to understand business needs and workplace activities.
- Intermediate skills within the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Desirable
- Experience working in federal, state or local government and/or a highly regulated industry.
